Dr. Yolanda Peppers
ABOUT DR. PEPPERS
Dr. Yolanda Peppers, a seasoned healthcare professional, retired
from the State of Illinois in March 2018 after a remarkable
thirty-two years of service as a Health Facility Surveillance
Nurse (HFSN), where she was responsible for investigating
nursing homes. Her dedication to healthcare was further evident
in her simultaneous employment at Haymarket as the
Director of Medical Detoxification and Nursing. In September
2021, after over 10 years of service to clients struggling
with substance abuse and mental health issues, Dr. Peppers retired
from Haymarket, leaving behind a legacy of excellence.
Dr. Peppers is now the Nurse Manager for Gateway Foundation
Independence Chicago. She directs and manages a team
of registered nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, certified nurse
aides, and certified medical assistants who assist patients in
overcoming Substance Misuse and Mental Health challenges.
Dr. Peppers is also a consultant for Sinai Community
Institute’s Healthy Chicago Equity Zone department and in
private practice with Heuristic Healing Inc.
Lastly, Dr. Peppers serves as the President and CEO of
Bless The King ministries, whereas she ministers around the
City of Chicago and its suburbs, teaching the word of God.
Dr. Peppers earned her PsyD in psychology from the Adler
School of Professional Psychology, an MS in Human Services
Administration from Spertus Institute, a BS in Health
Studies from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois,
and her Applied Associate Degree in Nursing from Olive
Harvey College in Chicago, Illinois. Her diverse educational
background and professional achievements are a testament to
her dedication and passion for her work.
A thoughtful and spiritual leader, Dr. Peppers wrote her dissertation on the intersection of depression and church attendance among African American adults. An intercessor
prayer warrior who also serves as an armor bearer prayer
assistant for Dr. Jeanne Porter-King. Dr. Peppers has been
encouraging God’s people through inspirational essays and
articles since the early nineties when she started writing for
her church, Apostolic Church of God newsletter, under the
guide of her spiritual father, Bishop Arthur Monroe Brazier.
Today, Dr. Peppers continues to inspire people through the
words God gives her to share with others on her Bless The
King Tuesday Talks via Zoom.
